Focus: Language-sensitive teaching
The students at the Driland Kolleg Gronau are extremely heterogeneous in terms of their mother tongue, experience, knowledge, motivation and ability, as well as their social and religious background. In addition, their interests and talents as well as their way of learning differ significantly from one another.
The staff at Driland Kolleg want to recognize this diversity as a value and use it positively by establishing individual support as part of school life and incorporating it into a constantly evolving concept. However, because Driland Kolleg combines several educational programs under one roof, the individual measures for individual support must be well planned and implemented conceptually. Examples of individual support include
- self-organized learning and individual support systems or
- Individual support at upper secondary level
- a concept for language-sensitive teaching
- a transition concept for an individualized school career and a good transition to work or study
A "basic model" for individual support at the Driland Kolleg is intended to provide orientation for students, interested parties seeking information and employees and to support both learners and teachers.
