Since May 2022, Driland Kolleg has been part of the "School of Diversity" network, which campaigns for the acceptance of gender and sexual diversity in education. The network is part of the "Bundesnetzwerk Schule der Vielfalt" working group, which was founded in 2015 during the general meeting of the Bundesverband Queere Bildung e.V. (Federal Association for Queer Education). In North Rhine-Westphalia, the work of "Schools of Diversity" continues to be supported by the state coordination of anti-violence work for lesbians, gays and trans* at rubicon e.V., SCHLAU NRW, Rosa Strippe e.V. and the Ministry of Schools and Education of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.

We approach gender plurality with openness, as we believe it enriches the lives of all people. Being gay and lesbian, intersexual and transgender is not a special case for us; on the contrary, being queer is respected and accepted by everyone involved in our school as a form of diverse gender identity. Gender and queer education are part of the pedagogical mission statement of our college of further education, and we want to be a model for a sustainable society in our daily interactions. Our vision is a society without exclusion, without trans* hostility and homophobia, which we want to prepare and exemplify. With this in mind, the Driland Kolleg actively campaigns against gender-based discrimination of any kind. As part of our commitment to the "School of Diversity" network, we pursue the goal of reducing existing prejudices in relation to different genders, educating students and raising their awareness in equal measure.

Our commitment to non-discriminatory coexistence is reflected in our everyday teaching as well as in various events that are regularly dedicated to our commitment to the "School of Diversity" network during the semester. These activities range from project days, exhibitions and workshops to lectures and panel discussions, some of which we also hold together with the adult education centers in Gronau and Ahaus. Regardless of the gender of the teachers or students, whether they are lesbian, gay, trans*, inter*, bi- or heterosexual, everyone is welcome at Driland Kolleg.
