Study and career guidance
Study and career guidance is a top priority at our school. The aim is to guide, advise and support students in their life planning and in their decision to study and choose a career. This concern is reinforced by the initiative of the Ministry of Labor, Integration and Social Affairs in NRW "Kein Abschluss ohne Anschluss", which aims to ensure the best possible transition from school to university or vocational training. This is why we at Driland Kolleg work closely with advisors from the employment agency, who answer students' individual questions at regular on-site appointments. There is also active support from selected teachers within the college.
In the area of evening high schools/colleges, the study orientation exchange with providers from universities in the region has proven its worth. In addition, our students are familiarized with Studifinder, an online self-assessment for all universities in NRW.
In addition to regular contact with the careers advisors at the employment agency, the evening secondary school is closely supported by the guidance and subject teachers. Individual concepts support students in their further life planning, for example in deciding whether vocational training or a direct transition to the college with the aim of obtaining the Abitur makes more sense after the intermediate school leaving certificate.
In addition, we are working more closely with local providers in the Borken district and are actively involved in or make use of offers such as the Training Day in Gronau and the Careers Orientation Fair in Ahaus (BOM AH) organized by Driland Kolleg.
